Madison Culture

As we are in our 2nd year of living in Madison, we are branching out to experience more of the Wisconsin culture and sights.

This weekend we watched the Mad City Ski Team with some friends. I never knew that water skiing was a competitive sport, but it is. Each Sunday night the ski team does pyramids and tricks at Lake Monona and people can watch. I thought it was going to be totally cheezy, but we ended up having a fun time with the group of friends.

Then for Labor day we attended a Brewers vs. Cardinals baseball game. I have not converted to a Brewers fan after all those years living in St. Louis- don't think it will happen. However, this was my first experience tail gating- what a blast! All of our parking garages in St. Louis are either covered or are street parking, but in Milwaukee they have a huge open lot and everyone goes early to grill and tail gate before the game. Super fun. It was also Liliana's first baseball game and she loved it. One of the couples that went to the game are grandparent figures to Liliana and she adores them. They made it so fun for her and we made a big deal every time Bernie the Brewer came out in his costume or when music would be played. It was one of my most memorable and fun games I have been to.

Next weekend more Madison adventures await. We have plans to go to the Farmer's Market with some folks for the first time. I am excited to finally experience that.
